throughout the country to Wildwood, NJ, June 24-27, 2010

Wildwood, NJ (June 11, 2010) – Famous for its themed weekends, the city of Wildwood, NJ, will host hundreds of roller derby enthusiasts, skaters and vendors, June 24-27.

Dubbed the first official Roller Derby Weekend, the event will feature a full-day of hard-hitting games, a parade in front of the Wildwoods Convention Center, and various other skate-inspired festivities.

Male and female roller derby skaters from throughout the country are expected to attend the 2nd Annual Colossal Coastal Roller Expo (CCRE) hosted by the Wildwoods Convention Center and The South Jersey Derby Girls.

“It looks to be all-out derby mayhem,” said CCRE Chair Billy Rae Siren, “with many different styles of play showcased, and loads of hard-hitting derby action.”

Last year, the heart-pumping action was featured on the Food Network's hot show, Dinner Impossible, and boasted celebrity chef, Robert Irvine, as well as, Hall of Fame Roller Derby Stars of the past, and dozens of national vendors.

All-day tournament play on Saturday, June 26 is open to spectators. Tickets are available through www.ccrollerexpo.com and www.ticketmaster.com. Please visit the CCRE website for a complete list of events and schedule. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and kids under 6 get in free. Military and student tickets are offered for $10 with ID. Fans can also purchase tickets at the Wildwoods Convention Center Box Office.

Any aspiring or current roller derby skaters should also visit the website for registration and additional information on attending the event; and to find out first-hand why roller derby is the fastest-growing sport in the nation.
