South Jersey Derby supports South Jersey Breast Cancer Coalition
The ladies at South Jersey Derby have skated in the " Pink Porches For Breast Cancer Walk" for the past two years, to help the SJBCC with their mission. A lot of our families and friends have been personally effected by breast cancer, and this gives us a chance to feel like we can help make a difference. The SJBCC has actually helped out someone we know, and we will be forever grateful. Last year we also hosted the first of hopefully many "Best of the Breast" games. We could tell by the support of our fans, they enjoyed giving to the community as well. The SJBCC is a great organization, and we are looking forward to our next chance to team up with them!~MC SlamHer
About the South Jersey Breast Cancer Coalition:
The SJBCC was formed in 1997 by a group of survivors concerned with the enormous social,medical and economic consequences of breast cancer.
Through our years of services we have learned that cancer effects everyone, survivors, family, friends, neighbors, employers. We protect the NJ communities we serve by fighting cancer on multiple fonts through advocacy,service,education and providing hope and help to those in need.
We serve as patient advocates on the local,state and federal levels. We promote breast health awareness throughout NJ by our quarterly newsletter,email alerts, personalized lectures and public events, such as our Annual Pink Porches for Breast Cancer Walk In 1995 we established the Carolyn J Ochs Memorial Client Assistance Fund in memory of one of our founding members who valiantly fought her battle with this disease but sadly succumbed to it. The fund was started to help people who have a financial need associated with or arising from the diagnosis of treatment of breast cancer. since it's inception, we have awarded over $77,000 to persons who have applied for assistance.-Loretta, South Jersey Breast Cancer Coalition-Your donations are welcome!
