South Jersey Roller Derby cleans up Delaware River Shoreline
September 14, 2014

The skaters of South Jersey Roller Derby in conjunction with the Woodbury Litter Club, cleaned up the Delaware River shoreline by removing 25 bags of trash, tires, a buoy, barrels, and more.

Inspired by the amount of empty water bottles that were picked up, the league has formally began an environmental initiative and asked that all skaters bring only reusable water bottles to practices and games. They are incentized not only by getting more attendance points, but also by avoiding being heckled by their teammates!
The league's next group volunteering adventure is scheduled for December.
